J.T. Smith of Bearcat Insider is giving the defensive game balls for their game against the USF Bulls

J.T. Smith of Bearcat Insider is giving the Cincinnati Bearcats defensive game balls for their performance against the USF Bulls. Check out who received game balls for last week’s performance.

The Cincinnati Bearcats loss to American Athletic Conference foe the USF Bulls on Saturday 45-20. The score could be misleading for the defense as the offense turned the ball over four times including one that was returned for a touchdown. The only knock is the defense didn’t cause any turnovers for the first time this season.

The unit allowed 454 total yards to the Bulls (226 rushing and 228 passing). For the most part it was the Marlon Mack and Quinton Flowers show in the second half.

Check out who received game balls this week.

Game ball number one: Kevin Mouhon, defensive end- 4 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss

Mouhon was flying around during Saturday’s game. He caused a lot of problems for the Bulls offensive line and it is a good sign for defense going forward. We like the flash plays and hopefully he will build on this performance.

Game ball number two: Eric Wilson, linebacker- 12 tackles

Wilson is known as a tackling machine and that was evident on Saturday night. He was making plays like we’ve come to expect from number 23.

Game ball number three:Mike Tyson , safety/linebacker- 8 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and 1 pass defensed

I had a hard time deciding was I going to give the last game ball to Tyson or Zach Edwards, I swayed my vote to Tyson because of the 2 tackles for loss. He did a good job at making plays in the backfield, he is much improved this season and you can see it and the way he’s been playing so far.
