Kyle Washington was honored by the American Athletic Conference for the seventh time this season. The Bearcats split this weeks two games and Kyle was solid in both games. Congrats to Washington by getting honored by the AAC again.
University of Cincinnati junior Kyle Washington (Champlin, Minn./NC State) was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. It marks the seventh time this season the league has honor the Bearcat forward.
Washington averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks, including his seventh double-double of the season last week for Cincinnati.
Washington posted 14 points and 11 rebounds with four steals and two blocks in the Bearcats 60-50 home win over UCF on Wednesday. He recorded 11 points, six rebounds and a pair of blocks during a 60-51 road loss at No. 25 SMU on Sunday.
The left-hander leads the Bearcats in scoring this season, averaging 13.6 points and shooting 53.0 percent (140-264 from the field while averaging 7.1 rebounds. He has scored in double figures in 19 of 25 games.
Entering Monday, Washington ranks among the league leaders in field goal percentage (fourth at .530), double-doubles (tied for fourth with seven), blocks (sixth at 1.5), rebounds (tied for ninth at 7.1) and points (11th at 13.6).
Washington has claimed a team-high seven honors from the league this season. He has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll five previous times (Nov. 21, Nov. 28, Jan. 9, Jan. 16 and Feb. 6) and tabbed the league’s Player of the Week once (Dec. 5).
