Former University of Cincinnati football student-athlete Mike Tyson (Norfolk, Va./Lake Taylor/Hargrave Military) was one of 330 players invited to the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, the league announced Wednesday.

The annual event, held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis between February 28-March 6, 2017, features interviews with teams and media sessions, on-field workouts and medical exams.

Tyson is scheduled to workout with the defensive backs, arriving in Indianapolis on March 3 and working out on March 6. Television coverage will be provided by the NFL Network.

Tyson saw action in 43 games, making 23 starts and playing safety, cornerback and nickel back. He totaled 137 career tackles, including 7.5 for a loss, 11 passes defended and seven interceptions, five of which came in 2016. He was tabbed as a midseason All-America choice by Pro Football Focus and won the UC Jim Kelly Sr. Spirit Award. His five interceptions ranked among the top-10 in the NCAA FBS in 2016 and were the most for a UC player since DeAngelo Smith tallied eight in 2007.

He participated in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in January 2017.

For the first time, the NFL will bring free, expansive, and interactive fan experiences, including access to Combine drills and press conferences, autographs with NFL Legends, and virtual reality attractions. In addition, a select group of fans will have exclusive opportunity to watch the 2017 NFL Combine live from inside Lucas Oil Stadium.
