Senior Profile on guard Kevin Johnson

BCI is highlighting senior guard Kevin Johnson for Senior Day. Thursday will be Johnson’s last home game in a Bearcat uniform.

Kevin Johnson

HT/WT: 6’3”/ 185 lbs

Position:  Guard

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

Kevin Johnson a Summit Country Day graduation which means people from Cincinnati has already been engrained to love Johnson. Johnson is a player who plays with confidence and grit, one of the best defenders in the country and has had a solid senior season, Thursday night will be the last time he will don a Bearcat jersey in front of the home crowd. Even if you are tough on Johnson (known for taking wild shots, hasn’t done so as much this year) you have to acknowledge he has had a very solid career. Some people try to go out with a bang and that is what the senior is doing this season averaging a career high in points (8.7), rebounds (2.2) and steals (1.4) per game.

Johnson for his career averages 6.2 points, shoots 37.8% from the field, 32.8% from three and 75.9% from the foul line. He has at least two more games to play in the regular season, possibly a few games in the AAC Tournament and another NCAA Tournament bid so hopefully he can add to those totals.

He has made American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll once and made countless big plays, make sure y’all show the hometown guy some love.

His career high in points came 12/17/16 with 18 against Fairleigh Dickenson.

His career high in three pointers made came (four times) last time 12/17/16 against Fairleigh Dickenson.

His career high in steals came 12/23/14 with 4 against Wagner.
