Bob Huggins and staff are out in full force working on the class of 2006. One player that the Bearcats are definitely looking at is Ramar Smith. Smith attends King HS in Michigan and has led them to a 17 and 3 record so far this season.

The number 6th rated shooting guard in the country is being recruited mainly by Michigan State, Arizona, UConn, Georgetown, and Cincinnati. He hasn't taken any visits yet, but said he looks forward to them this summer. Ramar Smith has offers from Michigan State, Arizona, Arkansas, and UConn.

When asked what will be the most important factor in his recruitment he responded, "Getting up and down and a coach letting the players play."

Smith hopes to have a decision by mid-season next year.

While where he plays college basketball is extremely important right now Smith is focused on his season at hand. King HS won the first district game, but Smith won't be happy with anything other than a state title.

"I'm playing pretty good," Smith said. "I could be playing better. I couldn't win city, but I can win state. My goal is to win state."
