A quick look back at the Iowa game, and a photo book link from ESPN. Up next!!!! KENTUCKY

With Bearcat "Super Fan" Nick Lachey in attendance, seventh seeded Cincinnati defeated Iowa 76-67 during first round play of the NCAA Tournament. Many wondered what the Bearcats would bring to the table after their lackluster display in the Conference USA Tournament. The wonder was answered early as Jason Maxiell showed why he's the force behind the Bearcats.

Maxiell would score 22 points with 6 blocks, a pair of steals and a couple of three's. Behind Maxiell, the Bearcats brought a physical game and ran away from the Hawkeyes from the start.

The Bearcats held Iowa to 34% shooting for the game, but saw the Hawkeyes cut an 18 point first half lead down to 32-22 at the half. The Hawkeyes would fight only to see the Bearcats keep pulling away.

Defense was the name of the game as the Bearcats were dominant in the paint blocking 8 shots. Maxiell would put an exclamation mark on the game with a monster dunk with two minutes left and then followed with a three to make the score 74-58 with 1:24 left to play.

Maxiell wasn't alone in the stat sheet. Eric Hicks tallied 10 points along with 9 boards, while James White and Nick Williams rebounded from a pour performance in the C-USA Tournament. White added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, while Williams scored 13 points to go with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

With the victory, Coach Bob Huggins earns his 399th career victory and will be looking for number 400 in a match-up with Kentucky on Saturday.
