During spring practice Bearcat Insider has seen several high school prospects make visits to Cincinnati and take in a practice. Some of these players have received high interest from the coaching staff, while others look to show interest and then work towards the coaches making an offer. One player we spoke with had a very interesting story.
Pete Nochta from Tates Creek High School is a prospect that's going under the radar. A 6'2 quarterback / defensive back in high school, Pete is looking to prove his wares during summer camps as he makes the move from under center to tight end. While several local schools are showing interest, (Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville) none have made an offer yet. The interesting thing we learned about Pete is his connection within the Bearcats coaching staff.
Coaches often see their son's follow in their footsteps. Bearcat Coach Pat Narduzzi fits into this mold. A son of a coach, Coach Narduzzi's father coached Pete Nochta's father. While Pete may not end up with a Bearcat offer, he's sure to get a look.
Bearcat Insider spoke with Pete after Friday's practice. I want to thank Pete and his father for taking the time and standing in the rain to do this video interview.
