NEWS AND NOTES DAY 14

As spring practice winds down, so does our new & notes segment for this year. Bearcat Insider covered all 14 practices in 2005, no other media outlet can make this claim. We would like to thank the Bearcat coaching staff for allowing us this chance to cover the team.

-Today was a light practice with helmets and shoulder pads.

-It seemed to be Indiana recruit day at practice. BCI spoke to the following prospects:

*Aaron Lindenschmidt from Harrison High School in Evansville, Indiana. Aaron is a 6'2" linebacker weighing 227 pounds.

-Earnest Jackson did not workout today but felt he still may play Saturday.

-Tony Pike, Lamonte Nelms and Greg Moore are definitely out for Saturday's game.

- We'll have a story about Lamonte Nelms next week.

-We were asked about Jarrod Gaines on the message board. He played some last season but is no longer with the squad.

-Bearcat recruits Mike Mickens and Cedric Tolbert attended practice today. It was Tolbert's third practice. Incidentally, the two DB‘s drove to practice together with Cedric's Dad. We'll have a story about Mike Mickens next week.

-Carlos Simpson showed some nice moves and quickness today.

-Antwuan Giddens made some plays too but did drop a ball.

-Angelo Craig and Terry Arnold got a lot of reps with the #1's today. They seemed to be focusing on their nickel package coverages.
