Bearcat Insider takes a close look at the latest news around the Bearcat Basketball Program.

It's been a busy week for the Bearcats Basketball program. With the commitment of Ivan Johnson on Tuesday, the Bearcats are looking to sign one more player (Harris) in the coming weeks. Johnson, who averaged 25 points and 12.2 boards per game, helped lead Southwest to a 23-8 mark this past season. As all Bearcat fans know, Johnson had visited UC on April 15th and followed that visit with trips to Kansas State and Lamar.DARRELL HARRIS

No word yet on Harris signing his papers at UC. Bearcat Insider has spoke with several sources who still feel Harris will become a Bearcat in due time. While Harris has his release from Siena, the process is not as easy as the school saying "Fine, go ahead and go elsewhere." So Bearcat fans will have to wait and see when Harris is able to make it official.

One player who has the Bearcats listed high is Ramar Smith. The talented shooting guard spoke with Evan Daniels during the Spiece Run N' Slam and Evan had this to report to Bearcat Insider.

"I spoke with Ramar Smith on Sunday at the Spiece Run N' Slam and he told me that he liked Cincinnati, Michigan State, Uconn, and Arkansas.  He went on to say that he isn't in a hurry to make a decision."Smith, who's a 6-3 guard is playing for "The Family" this year on the AAU circuit. Cincinnati will be battling Arkansas, Michigan and Michigan State for Smith's services at this time.

Evan also had a chance to speak with Bearcat prospect Aaron Pogue about several different schools he has interest in. Aaron told Evan the following about UC. With Cincinnati, Pogue also sounds fond of Bob Huggins and the coach's rugged style.

"I like their up-tempo game," Pogue said of Cincinnati. "Hugs is a great

Coach, he'll get up in you and he's just a great coach."While it's early to say if Smith or Pogue become Bearcats, from the past conversations they both seem to have high interest in wearing the Red & Black.

As reported by the Enquirer. James White isn't looking to make the jump to the NBA. All he wanted was some press time and he received it from several sources. While who has some skill, knows he's not getting the looks that the other top players at his position are getting. This way he gets some Pub! and then gets back to work for the Bearcats.
