TOP SOPHOMORE HAS EYES ON BEARCATS

One of Ohio's top sophomores has his eyes on the Bearcats and their move into the Big East.

One of Ohio's top sophomores has his eyes on the University of Cincinnati and the growth of the Bearcats football program.

Huber Heights Wayne (Ohio) defensive back / running back Donnie Evege has already attended a Bearcat football camp. The transfer from Xenia High School has heard much about the growth of the Bearcat program from former teammate Cedric Tolbert and new teammate Mike Mickens. Both Bearcat recruits have spoke high of Coach Dantonio and his staff and what is being built as the Bearcats enter the Big East Conference.

While Evege is becoming one of Ohio's top prospects, he knows there's more to finding the right school then football alone.

"My options are open at this early stage. I know Mike (Mickens) and Cedric (Tolbert) are real high on all the coaches and what they want to do when they get there. And with UC being close to home, I have interest in looking at them."

In talking with Evege it became clear he has serious interest in Cincinnati. "With them going into the Big East you know they will compete for championships and bowl games. I'm wide open and know there is more to college football than just football. I want to find a program that is right for me, on and off the field."

Asked if he will attend camp with the Bearcats this summer Evege had the following to say. "Coach Minton and my father are working out a list of schools for me to attend. It's like a dream list and there are schools from all over the country. So I can't say I will or will not camp at UC, it depends on several factors and I don't have the answer to that at this time."

One thing is for sure, Donnie Evege is moving fast up the charts of college coaches as they learn of his speed and athletic ability. Evege is now preparing to finish a strong track season with hopes of earning a trip to Columbus for the state track championships.
