The Bearcats are moving to the Big
East, with that comes the need to recruit against the competition in the
conference and in their backyards. So why not start at the top of the heap and
offer one of the top prospects in Western Pennsylvania? That is just what
Cincinnati has done with their latest offer.
Imperial (Pa.) West Allegheny wide receiver Dorin Dickerson, 6-2 and 225 pounds, has picked up four new offers this week including one from the Bearcats.
"Toledo, Virginia, Cincinnati, and Michigan State have offered," Dickerson said. "It's nice to see a lot of new schools offer me in this process."
UC linebackers coach Mike Tressel is recruiting Dickerson for the Bearcats.

"Mike Tressel is the nephew of Jim Tressel, and he's doing a good job of recruiting me," Dickerson said. "I think Cincinnati is an up-and-coming program that's entering the Big East."
Dickerson has now received offers from Toledo, Virginia, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, West Virginia, Eastern Michigan, Rutgers, Wisconsin, LSU, Pittsburgh, Boston College, North Carolina, Connecticut, Michigan, Purdue, and Akron.
Dickerson's athletic ability could be attributed to his genetics. Dickerson's uncle, Ron Dickerson, is a former assistant coach with Penn State and a head coach with Temple. His cousin, Ron Dickerson Jr., was a Pennsylvania prep star before heading on to Arkansas and ultimately the NFL. Ron Jr. is now an assistant coach at Louisiana-Monroe.
In 2004, Dickerson ran for 1,065 yards and 13 touchdowns on 133 carries. He caught 26 passes for 517 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also West Allegheny's leading tackler.
