During my first day on the Job here
at Bearcatinsider.com I got a chance to see several prospects on the final day
of camp for the
Lamar Mapp DE –
Lamar measured in at 6'3" 249 lbs. Which is an increase from his playing weight last season (226) But in the 1-on-1 drills he seemed to not lose a step. Running around and past every Offensive Lineman, his performance was by far one of the best on Day #3 of camp.
Dayven Jones WR -
Dayven measured in at 6'1" 165 lbs. Showed excellent speed and a great burst coming out of routes, also has very good hands. He could wind up being a triple threat in college, with his experience playing safety and returning kicks.
Jacob Ramsey RB
Jacob showed excellent hands and speed being able to create separation in the passing game. And showing a toughness when he ran down and tackled another player who had intercepted a pass. I was very impressed with his toughness and his blue collar work ethic on the underneath routes. He also showed quick feet in the cone drills, and the ability to burst into a second gear.
There will be more on these and other players who were at camp. I plan to keep in contact with them and see where UC fits into their recruiting plans.
