Mark Jackson, 6'7" 290 Columbus Brookhaven (Ohio). Has already won a state championship last season helping the bearcats rule the roost in the buckeye state.. Now recruiting has turned up for him and he now claims four offers. "I have offers from Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Akron."
This long armed prospect has been making the camp tour this summer as well. "I have been to camps at Cincinnati (6-12), and am going to camps at Eastern Michigan (6-19), Ohio State (6-24)," "I am also trying to get to Michigan State and Florida, and maybe Iowa as well."
When posted the question of most important factors in choosing a school. "I am looking at graduation rates, winning, and I would like to go to a school that primarily runs the ball."
In a self comparison to the other offensive line prospects in Ohio Jackson was not a loss for words. "I see myself as a top 3 offensive lineman in Ohio." "There are not too may offensive lineman in Ohio have footwork like me."
Jackson also had some thought on UC. "I really liked the staff, coach Staten was a cool guy." "I am planning on coming back down to campus again with my family."
Jackson had a good performance at camp. The only concern was that he didn't challenge anyone. And that is something that I look for in an offensive lineman. That lack of intensity is a concern. However, his film tells a different story. He falls short of being in the elite class of Tilley, Brown, Smith, and Boren, and not quite in the class of Jarrod Smith. But the combination of size, speed, and wing span, make an interesting prospect who has the chance to blossom into a solid player at the next level.
In my opinion he is an exciting prospect and I look forward to seeing him this fall. As I am sure the Bearcat coaches are as well.
