Ben Davis: Texas OL Still Looking

Texas Offensive Lineman is still looking around despite giving a verbal commit. Davis checks in with Scout.com to keep us up to date on his recruitment.

Ben Davis (6'7", 282) offensive lineman from Boerne Texas, checks in with Scout.com about the status of his recruitment. As earlier reported on Scout.com, Davis has verbally committed to Texas Tech, his lone offer to date.

Sometimes when a recruit makes a verbal commit very quickly he loses interest in any other schools. However with Davis, this is not the case. "I like the Big 12, it's not too far from my house, but I am open to other schools, I want to hear what they have to offer."

When asked about his strengths and weaknesses. "My strengths are my size, agility, quickness, and my football I.Q., Things I need to work on would be my overall strength and speed."

When the Bearcats were brought up Davis who really hadn't given the ‘Cats much thought but did say, "I had no idea they would even be interested in me, but I would look forward to talking with the coaches and seeing what they have to offer."

While Texas Tech is still the team to beat for Davis' signature, it was apparent that Davis had not closed his recruiting totally. Being very open to any school who may offer the mammoth offensive lineman from Texas, look for his recruitment to pick back up very soon.

While many thought his commitment to Texas Tech was a solid verbal, it appears that Davis will continue to listen to other schools and should be considered a soft verbal to the Red Raiders at this time.
