Mad Max A Piston

Bearcat standout selected in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft.

With the 26th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons select Jason Maxiell from the University of Cincinnati. When NBA Commissioner David Stern said those words, Bearcat fans yelled with joy.

The Bearcats 11th all-time scorer heard his name called before most draft experts felt he would. But while Piston fans may be wondering why their team would select Maxiell in round one, Bearcat fans know all too well what Mad Max brings to the table.

The durable post player (129 consecutive games) will be a valuable piece for the Pistons as they look to make another run for a title after back-to-back championship appearances.

Bearcat Insider wishes Jason the best during his NBA career.
