Cody Faulkner (6'5.5", 305) offensive lineman from Hamilton Heights H.S. in Arcadia (IN), has already garnered seven offers from Wisconsin, Indiana, Wyoming, Ball State, Northwestern, Kentucky, and Miami (OH).
Faulkner rated as the Scout.com #49 prospect in the Midwest, has been one of the more sought after offensive lineman in the Midwest.
Faulkner has camped at Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, and Alabama.
When asked about the Bearcats "I met Coach Staten at Ohio State camp, I really liked him a lot, I could see myself playing for a coach like that." "Cincinnati would be in the mix if they offered."
Faulkner's father played tight end at the University of Florida and played in the NFL.
Along with his athletic achievements Faulkner is most proud of his off the field achievements that no one seems to talk about. "I have a black belt in karate; I am also an eagle scout as well." "I also compete in the 4H program; my areas of focus are painting, rockets, models, and this year photography." So it's easy to say Faulkner is a Renaissance man.
Faulkner also raised over one hundred and six thousand dollars for a veteran's memorial; it took three years to raise the money. This was done through the eagle scouts.
"I have also been on two missions to Jamaica to help build churches." "That's what I want to do with my career; I want to major in Engineering or Architecture." "That way I can design churches."
"My mother always wanted us to be well rounded so she made sure we were into a lot of different activities." "I would like to play in the NFL like my dad, but that's not the most important thing in my life." "I want to be able to give back to others."
Faulkner gave no indication about when a decision would be made. "I will commit when I find the right school, I want to be able to do my community work, and that's important for me."
Scout.com has this to say about Faulkner, Gives 110% effort on every play. Very good short-area blocker. Big, athletic road grader. His size, strength, power and bulk to dominate when he plays with leverage. Very good lower-body strength. Dominates as drive run blocker. Plays to the whistle. Shows nastiness. Powerful hands. OG at next level.
