E.J. Jones: The Forgotten One

Once was thought to be one of the top players in the 2006 class in Ohio. Has since moved to Illinois and become a prospect who has been lost in the shuffle. Jones remembers his Ohio roots and checks in with his favorites and to let us know what he thinks about the 'Cats.

E.J. Jones (5'11", 185, 4.55) the defensive back from Edwardsville (IL) checks in with an update and what schools he is looking at and when he may decide.

"I don't have any offers right now, but I have several schools who are close to offering right now."

Jones lists his schools of interest as; Cincinnati, Indiana, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Miami (Ohio).

"I went to camp at Cincinnati and Indiana, both were great camps, I really liked both coaching staffs a lot."

Jones sounded off about both camps;

Cincinnati - "I like them a lot; they are close to my Mom's family in Springfield (Ohio). I also know a lot of people who go there from my old area and playing against in my league."

Indiana - It was really fun; the defensive back coach was cool. Coach Douglass is really nice and I would like to play for a coaching staff like theirs."

"I am going to choose the school that is the best opportunity for me as a student and as an athlete."

Jones had a few comments about the Bearcats and the coaching staff; "I really enjoyed the coaches when I went down for camp, they really taught me a lot, and it's obvious that the program is on the rise. Coach Dantonio is a winner and that's obvious, I have always longed to be on a winning team. And I think Cincinnati is going to be a winner in the Big East Conference."

Jones hopes to make his decision during his senior season at Edwardsville (IL).

Jones earned All League honors as a defensive back in the Greater Western Ohio Conference last fall for Springfield North (Ohio).
