Bearcats Earn New Verbal

The Bearcats opened their preseason practice on a high note as they received a verbal from their third commitment of the Class of 2006.

As the University of Cincinnati Bearcats were taking the field for the first official practice of the 2005 season, big things were happening behind closed doors. Bearcat Insider was on hand for the start of practice, just as we were coming down the stairs of Nippert Stadium, a tall football prospect who Bearcat Insider has seen before was smiling and looked as if he had something to say. Sure enough, the prospect was Toby Boeckman who we spoke with just a few days ago, and the smile on his face was because he had just given Bearcats Head Coach Mark Dantonio his verbal commitment.

At 6'7 - 240 lbs., Boeckman plays defensive end at the high school level. For the Bearcats, Boeckman will be moved to the offensive side of the ball and play tight end or offensive tackle.

The St. Henry product spoke just a few days ago with Bearcat Insider about getting the recruiting process behind him before the start of his senior season. And today he did just that. Boeckman, who was joined by his father on the trip was very excited and spoke with Bearcat Insider about his verbal commitment.
