-After defeating #2 ranked Furman last week, Western Carolina jumped into some national polls. The Sporting Network ranks the Catamounts #22 this week while Don Hanson's Football Gazette has WCU at #14.

-Running back Darius Fudge received Southern Conference "Offensive Player of the Week" after rushing 13 times for 133 yards against Furman.

-Western Carolina will remind Bearcat fans of East Carolina with their purple and gold uniforms.

-The Catamounts got 5 interceptions against Furman last week.

-Western Carolina is no stranger to "trick" plays. They used 3 last week including a halfback pass and a bloop onside kick.

-Saturday's game will be the first between these two schools.
