Epstein Has First Offer In Hand

With his season ending short, this linebacker earned his first offer and still has D-I program in hot pursuit. Tim Adams catches up with Tyler Epstein for the latest.

Less than two weeks after his knee injury, the Division IAA schools are swooping down on Farmington High School hoping to land a bargain. Tyler Epstein, the #2 rated inside linebacker in Missouri according to ESPN.com, received an offer this week from Missouri State University (formerly known as Southwest Missouri State). Jacksonville State, another strong Division IAA program currently ranked #36 in the country, also called Farmington High School this week and requested film on Epstein. These programs see a Division IA athlete possibly slipping into their grasp due to Epstein's recent knee injury.

Surgery on Tyler's ACL tear will be performed on October 12, but a number of Division IA schools, including Cincinnati and Miami of Ohio, have continued to stay in contact with the Missouri linebacker. In fact, Iowa State just entered the recruiting picture this week.

After viewing film of Epstein's initial two games of the season, it's clear he will provide a physical presence at the next level.
