Bearcats Host NKU In Final Exhibition

Devan Downey and the Bearcats had no problem in their first exhibition, and will look to handle cross river foe Northern Kentucky University in their final exhibition contest.

Cincinnati will play its second and final exhibition game on Saturday night when Northern Kentucky comes to Fifth Third Arena for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The game is listed for broadcast on 700 WLW, but no one has confirmed this.

The Bearcats defeated Hillsdale in last Thursday's exhibition opener, 99-71. Cincinnati will open regular season play on Saturday, November 19, against visiting Murray State in Fifth Third Arena (7 p.m. WXIX-19).

But before the regular season can start, the Bearcats must take care of the Norse who will enter charged up and ready to go. NKU lost their exhibition opener to crosstown rival Xavier 78-44, but will look to push the Bearcats before their season opener. This is the fifth consecutive season Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky have matched up in a preseason contest.

While Bearcat fans have little to talk about during the early signing period, the chance to watch the Bearcats prepare for their opener against Murray State should provide some relief. Coach Kennedy and the team will look for the 2005-06 season to one of many first as they enter play in the Big East Conference for the first time in school history.
