Moore To Sit Out First Five Games

Senior guard Chadd Moore must sit out first five games.

After a tear-jerking exchange at the end of last season most people in the basketball world believed Chadd Moore's basketball career to be over. However, to the surprise of Bearcat fans lucky enough to attend this Summer's Deveroes Summer League Moore was suited up and ready to participate with his Bearcat teammates, making it no surprise when the once fallen Bearcat was announced as an official member of the 2005-06 UC roster.

However, that very same summer league that brought Moore back to the Bearcat family, may very well have taken him away – well, for at least five games. Moore, a senior guard, will not be eligible to play in any of the first five regular season games this season because of his unsanctioned participation in the summer league.

Moore, who has suffered from chronic back injuries the past two seasons, did not seek proper certification from the NCAA to participate because of his medical hardship.

Coach Andy Kennedy, who is dabbling with a mixture of Moore alongside Jihad Muhammad, and freshman Devan Downey and Dominic Tilford in the backcourt, is not surprisingly upset by the loss of his point guard.

"We will miss Chadd's sklls and leadership these first five games against very good competition, not to mention, Chadd has been playing the best basketball of his career in the preseason."

Moore, who will be eligible to return to action Dec. 10 against Vanderbilt, will miss games against Murray State, Illinois State, Holy Cross, Dayton, and no. 12 Memphis.
