When the University of Cincinnati Football team started the 2005 season, Bearcat fans knew one player could be counted on to perform up to his 2004 form. But while Junior Co-Captain Brent Celek has enjoyed a nice season, the La Salle High School (Ohio) native knows more could've been done.
2004 saw Celek haul in 23 passes for 254 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a main touchdown target, Celek set a new record for Bearcat tight ends with the eight scores. But as each week passed, fans watched as Celek seemed left out of the offense and only scored two touchdowns leading up to this weeks match-up with Rutgers.
But while Brent may not have scored as many touchdowns this season, his numbers are up and the future looks brighter than ever. So far Celek has recorded 27 catches for 307 yards.
Bearcat Insider sat down and spoke with Brent about several subjects and has this video interview.
