Recruiting Update: Barry Church

One of the top prospects on the Bearcats wish list has another visit coming up and then a descision to make. Has UC offered? What did he think of his recent visit? Only Bearcat Insider has the answers to these questions.

Bearcat Insider spoke to Barry Church Wednesday evening about his recent official visit to the University of Cincinnati. Barry was very upbeat about the weekend. "I loved it. It was really nice. They showed us all around campus, and we spoke to the academic advisors. We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner across the river. Later the players took us out, and we saw the dorms."

Donnell McKenzie, another Pennsylvania native, was Barry's host for the Friday and Saturday visit, but Church and his family were particularly impressed during their private meeting with Coach Dantonio. "Coach Dantonio officially offered me a scholarship a few weeks ago, and he talked this weekend about academics coming first. He also said because the team is so young, I'd have a chance to play early in my career."

Barry has another visit scheduled this weekend at Toledo and plans to make a decision soon afterward. The Bearcats have told Church that they project him as a linebacker in college.

BCI plans to talk again with Barry next Monday and inform the red and black football fans of his decision.
