Harrison was named a 1st team all state Division III linemen last week and will take his 6' 5"-265 pound frame to Clifton for his college football. Harrison is an excellent pick-up for the football Bearcats because he not only brings size but speed to his position, whatever that may be. Harrison has been timed with a 4.9 forty-yard-dash.
Harrison visited UC last weekend and called to give his verbal pledge on Monday, the same day he called Illinois to cancel a visit with the Fighting Illini. Chris had also planned visits to Toledo and Miami of Ohio.
BCI spoke with Chris's mother, Mrs. Chambers, about last week's visit. "It was real nice. Everything was real positive. Coach Dantonio asked Chris if he was interested in playing there, and Chris wasn't sure at the time. But Chris called on Monday and told them he was coming."
With Chris being skilled at both offensive and defensive line, some have wondered where he'll play in college. Since Terrill Byrd was Chris's host, it looks as if Chris will get a shot at defensive line.
Mrs. Chambers estimated that her son has a 2.9 GPA and scored a 17 on the ACT. She said that Chris had already qualified for eligibility next year. Chris is presently a starting forward on the Liberty basketball team.
When told that Barry Church had narrowed his choices to UC and Toledo, Mrs. Chambers was delighted. "Chris was hoping to have Barry as a roommate at UC."
