Big Football Recruiting Weekend Ahead

Official Visits are back and the Bearcats look to have a big weekend. We've worked the phones and came up with some names we feel will be around the UC Campus this weekend.

This weekend brings another chance for the University of Cincinnati Football program to show its stuff to possible future Bearcats. Recruiting weekends are always a big deal around college football programs. This is the time players learn more about coaches and programs and look to make a choice about their athletic and academic future. This weekend we've learned about the following prospects looking to make an official visit to the campus in Clifton.

After working the phones with our contacts across the country and high school coaches and prospects, these are the names we've come up with of players looking to make an official visit with the University of Cincinnati this weekend.

Robby Armstrong - Check on spelling Robbie

Franklin Regional SHS

Murrysville, PA

6'2 200 lbs. 4.65

Projected Position: Linebacker

Armstrong is another prospect under the radar due to an injury his junior season. Like Bearcat verbal Jacob Ramsey, Armstrong was sidelined his entire junior season due to a broken foot. But while many programs do most of their recruiting off of junior tape, Armstrong turned in a great senior season by rushing for 2,267 yards on 299 carries and scored 27 touchdowns. For his performance, Armstrong earned first team Associated Press Class AAA All-State honors. He also earned Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 22 team status.

Jeff Maddux

Monroe HS

Monroe, MI

6'4 295 lbs. 5.01

Projected Position: Offensive Line

Jeff comes from a football family as his brother Justin plays for BYU. The Bearcats are in the hunt along with Michigan State (visit 1-27-06) and Miami Ohio (visit 1-15-06). Jeff has quick feet and is a prospect under the radar of many. The Bearcats have enjoyed great success with players from the state up north. Could Jeff Maddux be next? A good visit could mean a commitment from the talented lineman.

Darius Morris

Long Branch HS

Long Branch, NJ

Projected Position: Offensive Line

Last season the Bearcats pulled away Corey Smith from the "Garden State", this year they have their eyes on an under the radar offensive lineman who shows some athletic ability. Morris worked to have a great senior season knowing his college future depended upon it. It will be interesting to see if Morris receives an offer on his visit.

Jarvis Williams

Jones HS

Orlando, FL

Projected Position: Wide Receiver

Williams has reported great size 6'5 - 200 lbs. and comes from the talent rich state of Florida. One look that he has a Boston College offer shows he's got some talent. This could be a big-time get for the Bearcats at the receiver position. Also holds a reported offer from Houston.

Daniel Hathaway

Grossmont College

El Cajon, CA

6'8 285 lbs.

Projected Position: Offensive Line

Hathaway is a prospect we've been telling our premium members about for about a month now. Great size and a body that can still put on some weight, Hathaway could add even more depth and fight for a starting position his first season.

Frederick Douglass HS

Upper Marlboro, MD

Projected Position: Wide Receiver

Those who follow Bearcat Insider have known about Marcus before he even held an offer from UC. The high-flying talented receiver made an impression on Bearcats coaches during camp and he soon received an offer and made his commitment early and has never looked back.

Those are the names we've come up with that we feel will be making official visits this weekend. We'll keep an eye open to see if we spot any of these prospects during the game on Saturday, or if any other prospects sneak in we don't know about.
