Photos: Syracuse & Bearcats

Photos from the Syracuse and Bearcats game on Saturday night.

The Bearcats won the tip, but lost the battle after playing well in the first half.

As always, the Bearcat faithful show their support for the first Bearcat basket of the night.

Gerry McNamara would lead the way for Syracuse on the night.

Even when the Bearcats had a hand in his face, McNamara would find a way to score.

But the battle of the boards came down to Syracuse all night long as both teams played physical on both ends of the court.

Several times the players hit the floor fighting for control of the basketball.

Connor Barwin wasted little time in mixing it up with the bigger Syracuse players.

Barwin eyes his first college career points on this free throw.  When was the last time a Bearcat has scored in both football and basketball during the same season?

But the biggest thing he gave Coach Kennedy was his physical style against the bigger Orangemen.  Terrence Roberts (33) learned about Barwin when he ended up being knocked out of bounds and getting the wind knocked out of him.

How big was Syracuse?  Freshman Arinze Onuaku (21) is reported to be 6'9 255 lbs.  He looked like he weights around 270 lbs.

Junior Terrence Roberts (33) is listed at 6'9 228 lbs.  How do you match-up with a team with so much size?

Physical play was the name of the game and the Bearcats didn't see many calls go their way on the night.  Welcome to the Big East!

James White was the top Bearcat on the night.
