Bearcats Pick Up Another Verbal For 2006

Coach Mark Dantonio has seen his phone ring off the hook early this week as the prospects his staff are recruiting start making the call and picking the Bearcats. See who was the latest to Call the Bearcats Head Coach.

Another prospect in the Class of 2006 has picked up the phone and reached out and touched Coach Mark Dantonio and his staff with a verbal commitment.

Long Branch, NJ prospect Darius Morris took his official visit with the Bearcats just this past weekend. But it didn't take the defensive/offensive line prospect many days to think about his visit and what program was the best for him.

Morris, who spoke with Bearcat Insider about his college choice said when asked who he picked, laughed and said "Cincinnati of course".

While Darius is not long on words, you could tell by the excitement in his voice he was happy and excited to tell someone he was a Bearcat. We only asked Darius a few questions about his verbal.

BCI: How does it feel to have this over with?

DM: It's great. I'm very excited about Cincinnati.

BCI: What were the final things you felt made Cincinnati the choice for you?

DM: With lots of freshman that played last season and the facilities I knew I couldn't go wrong. I also liked all the coaches and people I meet while I was there. I liked it all.

BCI: What did Coach Dantonio have to say when you called him?

DM: He accepted my commitment and seemed very excited that I picked Cincinnati.

BCI: Well Darius, I don't have a lot of questions for you tonight since we just spoke the other night. Congratulations on becoming a Bearcat.

DM: Thank you sir.

As I told premium members early in the day, I started getting word that Darius made his choice and would become a Bearcat. I want to thank Darius for taking the time and sharing with us his commitment to UC.
