Photos taken Saturday during the Bearcats spring practice session.

Marshwan (Marty) Gilyard uses his speed during punt coverage drills.  Bearcat coaches feel Gilyard could have a breakout season next fall.

Jared Martin started the day off right with this reception over the middle.

Dustin Grutza is seeing pressure from the defense and Nick Davila for the starting QB spot.  Here he looks to hit an open receiver under the pressure of linebacker Leo Morgan.  The running back did a great job picking up the rush on this play.

Nick Davila rolls out to find an open receiver on this play.  Nick enjoyed a great day and helped his stock in the battle for the starting quarterbacks job.

Kazeem Alli and his tight end teammates powered the Bearcats offense during the day.  Here Kazeem looks to get open.

Connor Barwin takes this one up field for a gain.  He wasn't going to let Alli pass him up on the day.

While the younger tight ends enjoyed big days, the "Master" Brent Celek wasn't going to be left behind on this day.  Here Brent looks to get open over the middle.

But while the offense enjoyed some big plays, the defense wasn't going to fold up it's tent and go away.  Here Trevor Anderson looks to give Jeremy Bolton a run for his money.

Butler Benton looks for a hole to open up for a positive gain.

Benton makes the cut looking for some positive yards.

And breaks free for a touchdown..

But the defense fought back and saw Nick DeFilippo make the sack on Nick Davila on this play.

Craig Carey saw some of his first true action of the spring Saturday.

Bearcat Insider had some help during the past week as Kyle Berk spent his spring break covering the Bearcats.  Kyle learned to take photos and get to know some of the players and coaches.  But while he had fun, he's back to school this week.

Bearcat Insider hopes you enjoyed the photos from Saturday's practice.
