Larry Black Gets First Two Offers

It was just a matter of time before this stud defensive lineman from Wyoming High School started getting scholarship offers.

Bearcat Insider first told our readers about Larry Black on March 2 when we wrote a story about Larry and his cousin Kashif El-Amin (DB). Kashif and Larry are cousins who played together as sophomores at Purcell-Marian High School until Larry moved into the Wyoming district last season. Larry's older cousin Khalil El-Amin is a 6' 5"/305 pound offensive tackle for the Cincinnati Bearcats, and after a busy Thursday at Wyoming High School, it looks as if Larry will also be a Division I college football player.

An admittedly and understandably excited Black informed Bearcat Insider of the day's exciting events. "Around first period today I got pulled out of English class, and Eastern Kentucky was in the office waiting. They offered me a full scholarship. Then right before lunch, I got pulled out of class again. Eastern Michigan went ahead and offered me a full scholarship too. Two in one day." The 6' 3"/287 pound defensive lineman, who made the Cincinnati all-combine team in late April, will likely add to his list in the coming days and months, but had trouble containing his excitement. "I'm really excited right now with my family, enjoying the moment. It feels really good when the offers start coming in."

Larry attended one of Cincinnati's spring practices and was also on hand for the Bearcat Bowl spring game.
