Trotwood Linebacker Talks Cincinnati Visit

One player Bearcat fans are excited about seeing in the Red & Black is Jamiihr Williams. The Trotwood-Madison linebacker visited the Bearcats on Thursday and Bearcat Insider has the latest.

Over the course of the past five months Jamiihr Williams has proven in several combines he's got all the physical tools to play at the next level. With size, speed and outstanding athletic ability many have questioned why more offers haven't been placed on the table. One reason was Williams move from Lima to Trotwood. But now, after showing so many his outstanding talents he's picked up several offers with Cincinnati being the one he's showing the most interest in.

"I had a chance to really talk with Coach Tresey and Coach Kelly a lot on my visit. I really liked what I saw from the direction they are taking the program and I could see myself playing there. I can see they have a plan to win a Big East Championship and to play in a BCS game."

With offers from Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Miami Ohio were do the Bearcats stand at this time?

"Right now Cincinnati is number one on my list of schools. I'm also hearing from several others, but with them having offered it places them first on my list. Other programs I'm really looking at are Indiana, Iowa and West Virginia. But because Cincinnati has offered me early it places them at the top of my list."

While Williams is in no rush to make a commitment he's not sure when he'll look to pull the trigger. With a planned trip on the Ted Ginn Bus Tour planned this summer, Williams knows he'll have a chance to visit several other programs.

"I know I want to see what everyone has to offer and I would really like to make my decision before the start of our season, but right now I'm not sure."

One factor Bearcat fans have learned about the group from Trotwood is the willingness of several players playing at the same program. With the verbal commitment of Brandon Moore to Michigan, it still leaves two other Rams holding Bearcat offers beside Williams. How much will the choices of others affect Jamiihr Williams?

"I like the fact a couple of us could end up all at the same school. We've really formed a special bond and it really helps knowing someone else who you are friends with could be with you in college as well. Domonick (Britt) and I are really good friends and we've talked about being at the same college so there is a chance of that with Cincinnati."

While friendships could play a part of his decision, Williams knows a program must have the tools in place to help a player reach his full potential. What did he see on his visit that showed him Cincinnati could be that school?

"I'd already see the facilities when we went down for Junior Day. They are some of the best I've seen on the schools I've visited and I had a chance to see more of them on my visit. I also had a chance to see more of the off field stuff that is also important to me. Getting a chance to see the dorms I'd be staying in and other things around campus gave me more to think about."

While looking at what teammates might be doing, who will be involved in helping make his college choice.

"I'll have the help of my coaches and also my father in making my college choice."

While it's too early to say if Williams will be a Bearcat, it sounds as if the Bearcats are in a very good position at this time.
