Trotwood-Madison's Maurice Douglas On Britt

As a former college and NFL player Maurice Douglas has seen his share of great athletes. But one of his current players has the former player now high school coach at Trotwood-Madison High School (Ohio) looking into the future with amazement.

On Tuesday Coach Douglas saw another one of his players make the call and end the recruiting process as quarterback Domonick Britt called the University of Cincinnati and gave his verbal commitment. Britt joins Brandon Moore (Michigan) and Roy Roundtree (Purdue) as commitments with a few more Rams still looking at several options.

When asked about Britt Coach Douglas was aglow with what the future holds for this special athlete.

"Domonick is just a special young man with some great physical abilities who is only going to get better. This is only the second summer he's spent working on the game of football and the first where he's had a true quarterback coach to work with him. So we expect him to continue to develop his game this summer and as he moves to the next level."

With two players having already committed to other programs and Britt holding offers from several programs, we asked Coach Douglas about Domonick's choice of Cincinnati.

"Cincinnati is a program that we here think is going to be a special one. Domonick will have a chance to win a title with him there. Brian Kelly is a proven winner and has won everywhere he's coached. He's going to build Cincinnati into a program to be dealt with very soon in the Big East and on a national level."

For Douglas having his players get their recruiting out of the way is a blessing.

"Recruiting takes a lot out of kids with all the attention. By making their commitments early allows them to take all the worry out of where they may be going to college and to focus on the season at hand. The greatest thing about this is watching them fulfill a lifelong dream of playing college football on a national scale and be given the chance to earn a college degree."
