"I just got offered by Eastern Michigan and almost all the MAC schools have told me they'd offer me if I came to their camp. I don't think I'm going to camp anywhere else right now and I feel it's really coming down between two schools."
For Cruse a college choice could be coming very soon. Having visited Miami this week for a tour and a chance to really talk with the coaching staff could make looking at any other MAC program wasted time.
Cruse during UC camp last week.
"Miami is really nice and the coaches are recruiting me real hard. They are recruiting me as a wide receiver and that is important to me. It's close to home and I really don't see why if I was going to pick a MAC school I'd have to look any farther than Miami."
But while Miami is a finalist another program Cruse is getting ready to visit today may hold the keys to his decision.
"I'm getting ready to visit Cincinnati in about an hour. UC has always been number one and they really want me to commit now because they are filling up their scholarships so fast. But they are recruiting me as a tight end and not a receiver. The coaches have told me they don't use the tight end in the same fashion as other schools so I'm going down to meet with them so they can show me how I'd be used. I'm also going to tour the school and athletic facilities while I'm there."
After this meeting could a choice be made?
"I really think it's down between Miami and Cincinnati right now. Both schools have so much to offer and are close to home. It really will come down to how I feel about playing tight end as compared to receiver."
We'll check back with Cruse to learn more about his visit tonight.
