Darnell Wilks Part of 2007 Hoops Class

After much talk it's now official. As announced by the University of Cincinnati, Darnell Wilks joins the Bearcats basketball program as part of the 2007 class.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati head men's basketball coach Mick Cronin announced today the addition of Darnell Wilks to the incoming Class of 2007. Darnell will begin summer classes at UC starting tomorrow (July 12).

"Darnell was able to graduate this year and wanted to come in as a member of the Class of 2007," said head coach Mick Cronin. "We are excited to have him on campus. Darnell is an extremely athletic player who can shoot the ball from the perimeter and works very hard. He also is a good passer who needs to develop his strength and ball-handling skills. We are happy he decided to join us now to start his development."

Wilks joins the Bearcats after graduating a year early from Nashville (Tenn.) Pioneer Christian Academy where this past season he averaged 17.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. As a junior, the 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward earned all-state and all-conference accolades. By the end of the season, Wilks was among the Top 60 players in the nation according to Rivals.com and Scout.com.
