Kings High School 7 on 7 Tuesday, July 24

Reminders of autumn were plentiful at Kings High School in Kings Mills on Tuesday. A clear sunny evening would give way to fall like temperatures in the 60s and the field was full of high school football players looking to make big plays during this evening of 7 on 7 action.

Six teams came to Kings to begin the process of knocking the rust off from the off-season; Kings, Hamilton Badin, Hillsboro, Waynesville, Indian Hill and Westfall.  Here's a brief run down of some of the players that stood out.

Indian Hill (Head Coach" Kevin Siple)

Ted Bolser, JR, WR, 6' 6", 195 lbs.  Camped at Louisville, Iowa, and Alabama this summer and is receiving interest from a number of schools including Iowa and Indiana.

Wali Morris, JR, CB/S, 6' 1", 185 lbs.  Wali was a ‘shut down' corner last night and showed a lot of potential.  Wali has battled injuries in the past and will open some eyes on the recruiting trail if he stays healthy and on the field.

Kings (Head Coach Andy Olds)

Danny Hagee, SR, TE, 6' 5", 230 lbs.  Danny is currently being recruited by Ohio University, and Ivy League Schools.

Bruce Ernst, SR, QB, 6'2", 178 lbs.  Bruce has an offer from the US Air Force Academy.  Bruce passed for 1,400 yards through 7 games in 2006 prior to being injured.

Chip Barkett, JR, TE/QB, 6'4", 200lbs.  Chip will see time at TE in 2 TE formations for the Knights and will continue to get some snaps at QB as he looks to replace Bruce Ernst next year.

Hillsboro (Head Coach Duane Earley)

Kendal Coleman, SR, WR/S, 6' 0", 190lbs.  Kendal plays WR and LB for Hillsboro but is probably better suited at Safety for college.  Kendal is a good athlete whose best sport may be baseball.  Kendal hit .500 last year for Hillsboro and just returned to Hillsboro from a baseball tournament in Georgia.  Kendal showed bursts of speed last night and made a couple of long completions.

Waynesville (Head Coach Glen Burchfield)

Frank Haer, SR, WR/S, 6' 3", 185lbs.  Frank is under the radar now having just moved to Waynesville from Clinton-Massie.

Westfall (Head Coach Todd Seymour)

Jack Gose, SR, WR, 6'3", 185 lbs.  Jack is currently receiving interest from Ohio University and Youngstown State University.

Hamilton Badin (head Coach David Wirth)

Nate Jackson, SR, FS/WR, 5' 9", 180 lbs.  Nate is a returning all GCL player at Safety.

Jake Wurzelbacher, JR, WR, 6' 2 ½", 167 lbs.

Andy Mick, SR, WR/OLB, 6' 3", 195.
