Louisville and Cincinnati just don't seem to get along. The two schools can't even agree on the series record.

The Cincinnati Bearcats and Louisville Cardinals have shared time in a number of conferences including the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Conference, Conference USA and now the BIG EAST Conference, but the two rivals can't agree on something as simple as the series record.  Louisville's media guide has the Cards with 20 wins 26 losses and 1 tie.   Cincinnati agrees with the 26 losses and 1 tie, but the Bearcats' guide has U of L with only 19 victories.

As every Bearcat fan knows, tonight's game is for the Keg of Nails.  The Keg is a trophy none of the current Bearcats have ever seen, except in passing, since the last time Cincinnati won the traveling trophy was back in 2002.  Just like the Victory Bell used in the Miami of Ohio game, this is not the original trophy.  The original Keg was lost by Louisville during some campus construction.  The present Keg is a replica.

Fans could argue that Cincinnati and Louisville are the two most surprising teams in the league.  It's a shock that Louisville, a preseason top 10 club by almost every preseason publication, is presently 3-3 with two losses in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium while the Bearcats, picked by most to finish no higher than fifth place, is undefeated and ranked 15-th in the country according to the latest AP poll.

The problem with the Cardinals has certainly not been their passing offense led by Playboy's Preseason All-American quarterback Brian Brohm.  The Louisville offense is rated #2 in the country in total offense and #3 in passing offense, averaging 406 yards a game through the air, but the Louisville defense has not been able to hold up its end of the deal by giving up 38 points or more in four of its six games.  The Louisville defense is rated #99 of 119 schools.

The Bearcats have a much more balanced club.  Cincinnati's offense is ranked #22 in the country while the defense is #38.  Plus, Cincinnati continues to lead the entire country in take aways with 25.  The game should be another dandy as Nippert Satdium is soldout for the second time this season.

Now it time for our traditional post: IT'S GAME DAY, BEARCAT FANS!!!  Time for Bearcat fans to strap on the helmet, apply the eyeblack and DEFINITELY wear that cup because IT'S GAME DAY, and ANYTHING can happen on GAME DAY!!!
