Bearcats Offer Local Prospect

Bearcat Insider has learned the Bearcats have now offered one of the Cincinnati areas top prospects.

"Cincinnati has now offered me."

Those were the words of Cincinnati St. Xavier defensive end Greg Scruggs when he spoke with Bearcat Insider on Monday night.

Scruggs, who's seen his recruiting reach the highest levels after not playing high school football until this fall, has interest in the hometown program.

"They've been in contact with me since I went to camp this summer. I owe it to them to see what they have since they've offered me a scholarship. They've got a great team this year with a new head coach and things are really looking good there."

One thing Scruggs and two of his teammates (Darius Ashley, Stephon Ball) have talked about is playing in college together. Cincinnati along with Miami Ohio are the only programs to have offered all three players at this time.

"Darius has been at this (recruiting process) a lot longer and has his choices down to Louisville and Virginia so I don't know if we'll all be together in college. I'm just taking my time and waiting until after our season ends and then I'll take some visits."

At this time Greg has received several offers from some very big programs. Michigan, Wake Forest, Michigan State, Tennessee and Connecticut have all jumped on board now with Ohio State looking hard at making an offer.
