Latest On Two Prospects On Bearcats Radar

While there were several prospects on hand for the Bearcats battle with West Virginia, two seem to still be on the radar for possible recruitment.

Once again there were a large number of potential recruits on the sideline at the UC – WVU game. With a limited number of available openings meeting the teams greatest needs are mandatory. At this time a focus for the Bearcats is to add to the Defensive Line in this class. Two players that could fit the bill were in attendance Saturday night. Bearcat Insider has spoken with both players to learn about their visit.

Kyle Kozak is a 6-5 Defensive End from Hargrave Military Academy. He told BCI that he weighs around 220 – 225 and has a 40 time of 4.7. Currently the most prominent school other than Cincinnati vying for his commitment is Indiana. At this point in time neither UC nor Indiana has offered. Kozak liked what he saw at UC in terms of facilities and the coaching staff. The next step is for the staff to continue to review Kozak's game film and keep the process moving forward.

Also on the sideline was Walt Stewart, a 6-5 220 pound DE/LB from Teays Valley High School who also plays a wing on offense. BCI spoke with Stewart's foster father about the visit. We learned that Stewart holds an offer from Akron and is being recruited by Northwestern, Purdue, and Indiana in addition to UC. Stewart was impressed with Coach Hinton and liked what Cincinnati has to offer. The process will continue over the next few weeks as the coaching staff further evaluates Stewart.

Bearcat Insider will follow up with both players in a few weeks to see where each stands with UC.
