The Bearcats are closing in on another potential defensive line recruit by extending an offer to Kyle Kozak of
UC defensive line coach Keith Gilmore visited the Hargrave combine this week for testing and a scrimmage. An offer to be a Bearcat was extended afterwards. Kozak stands 6-5 and is being recruited to play defensive end.
At the combine Kozak reported a 40 yard time of 4.5, with that kind of speed Kyle will be a nice fit for Coach Gilmore's defensive end spot. Currently Kyle weighs around 220 – 225, but has room to grow. In the bench press Kozak didn't have one of his better efforts as the testing was right after lunch, but he still managed to bench 225 lbs 16 times.
Kozak will have a busy week starting this weekend with official visits to UConn,
Before going to Hargrave, Kozak played at Pickerington Central where current UC red shirt freshman Chazz Anderson was the quarterback. Kyle mentioned that he also has other friends attending UC. The Bearcats may have some other advantages as Kozak would prefer to play close to home, the facilities and coaching staff are both pluses for UC.
Bearcat Insider will check in with Kyle as he completes his visits and makes his college decision.
