Taylor Rice Gives Update After Visit

Taylor Rice is a new name on the Bearcats recruiting scene. But what he brings to the table has a couple of programs working hard to get him into their program.

Taylor Rice is a name not many know about in the recruiting circles of Ohio. Missing three games during his senior season with a broken wrist limited him on the field, but college coaches are looking for a way to get him into their program with two Ohio schools leading the way.

Rice, who visited Cincinnati this past weekend has two schools on his mind. Cincinnati and Ohio State have both talked about Rice being a walk-on and on their 105 man roster. But UC could pull the trigger if things breakdown with any of the players expected to sign letters of intent.

"I enjoyed my visit at Cincinnati, but right now they don't have a scholarship to give me. If something would change with some of the players they expect to sign on signing day, then maybe I'd be given one. But right now the only thing we've really talked about is being a walk-on.

For Rice the same offer stands with Ohio State who is looking at him as a slot receiver. If the Bearcats would offer then Rice felt things would be different.

"If Cincinnati would offer me a scholarship I feel I'd give them my commitment on the spot. But if not I think I'll look hard at Ohio State and staying close to home.

We'll continue to follow any changes in the recruiting of Taylor Rice.
