Isaiah Pead Watch - Bearcats?

Will Isaiah Pead pick the Bearcats? That is the question Brian Kelly and his staff as well as Bearcat fans are waiting to find out.

Isaiah Pead

Running Back

5-11, 185

Columbus, Ohio (Eastmoor Academy)

The hottest name left in Ohio is that of Isaiah Pead. The running back has speed and the ability make things happen when the ball is in his hands. Brian Kelly and his staff are looking for another top player to add to the highest ranked class known in recent Cincinnati history, and Pead fits the bill.

The Other Players

Pittsburgh: After visiting with the Panthers, Pead spoke highly about them and many felt they were in the lead for his signature on signing day.

Indiana: Pead visited them in mid-December and while they still have heavy interest in him, the fact it looks as if Darius Willis is the back they really want may move them to the bottom of the list.

West Virginia: Much has changed at WVU and it's believed that the Mountaineers are the team left out in this race.

Colorado: Not much has been said about a team that entered the picture late in the process. He didn't visit and unless he makes a decision to hold off on signing and take a visit, it doesn't look like he'll be heading to the Big 12.

Michigan: Pead was offered an official visit and then it went away. But depending upon where Michigan is on their scholarship count a door could still open for the Big Ten program.

Why Bearcat Insider Feels Pead Will Be a Bearcat

Pead has stressed he wants to be a running back and in Brian Kelly's system he's got all of the tools. From what Bearcat Insider has learned the staff's in-home visit was the best as Pead, his parents and Coach Kelly and Coach Hinton really got along.

We've also learned that other Bearcat commitments have been working the phone lines with Pead about becoming a Bearcat and he's listening.

While we won't know until he makes his announcement later in the day, Bearcat Insider feels Pead will pick the Bearcats.

We'll be following what is going on in Columbus looking to give Bearcat fans the latest news as it develops.
