Sam Longo Talks About Bearcats Offer.

It was just last Monday that Bearcat Insider visited Sam Longo at Bellbrook High School to take a few photos and get the latest on his recruiting. By Sunday he picked up a new offer during a Junior Day visit.

For Sam Longo Sunday proved to be a great trip to the University of Cincinnati. We spoke with Longo on Sunday night about his great day.

According to Sam Longo it didn't take long for him to learn he was going to be offered a scholarship by Brian Kelly.

"My family and I walked into the Lindner Center and no more than we sat down a GA came and asked us if we wanted to meet the head coach. Coach Kelly than sat me and my family down and explained to us that the University of Cincinnati was offering me a full scholarship."

Longo who is starting to see increased interest from many college programs had just returned from a visit to Penn State on Saturday but was quick to talk about Cincinnati.

"Penn State was very nice but I'd have to put UC ahead of them having visited both. Cincinnati just has a great feeling about it right now. We got a chance to talk with Coach Quinn a lot during the basketball game and my dad really liked him. We both really liked the weight room and the facilities are top-notched."

While there are several months to go the Bellbrook high school product saw the future and has a plan.

"Right now I'm not in any rush but I could see myself playing there and compared to Penn State I really liked Cincinnati more. I know I would like to make my commitment before my senior year but I'm going to see what happens here the next few months before I make any decision."

While Sam said the staff didn't talk with him about camp, he knows the Bearcats may be a stop he'll make.

"None of the coaches really talked with me about coming to camp but right now I'm looking and Cincinnati might be one I attend.

While Sam Longo continues to see colleges show interest he knows the process is one that can take several turns. As one of Ohio's top prospects he's sure to hear from many more programs but knows Cincinnati is a place where top level football is played.

We'll continue to follow Sam during the process over the next several months.
