Dion Dixon Talks With Bearcat Insider

Dion Dixon took part in a Chicago High School All-Star game on Friday night and spoke with Bearcat Insider afterwards.

With the conclusion of a stellar senior season, Dion Dixon is looking forward to college.  The 6-3 guard, who averaged 25 points a game this season is working hard until he gets on campus.

“I’m working hard everyday because I want to start,” said Dixon.  “I want to try and come in and compete right away.”

Dion will be arriving on campus sometime in June, where he will take summer school classes and work on his game.  Until he comes to Cincinnati, Dion is not taking any time off as he is making sure he prepares himself for the next level.

“I’m in the weight room everyday trying to improve my strength, my quickness, and my speed,” said Dixon.  “I’m not taking any time off to relax after the season ended.”

Along with working hard, Dion is happy with the choice he made.

“I have a chance to come in and play in their backcourt right away,” said Dixon.  “I also like their style of play a lot.  I like to go up-tempo.”

The Crane star will look to help Deonta Vaughn in the Bearcat backcourt next season.  “I talk to Vaughn a little bit,” said Dixon.  “I just want to do as much as I can to start.”

Dion concluded his high school career by participating in the Chicago High School Classic.  Dixon finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a game-high four steals as his team lost 129-119.  He also displayed his athleticism by reaching the finals in the event’s Slam Dunk Competition.
