Cheek Makes UC Visit

Lancaster High School product Ryan Cheek visited the Bearcats during their spring game and talks with Bearcat Insider about his visit.

"I can see myself playing for Cincinnati after watching the spring game on Saturday night," Ryan Cheek told Bearcat Insider after his visit. "I had been to the Marshall game but really couldn't see much as we had seats in the first row and our line of sight was blocked by cheerleaders and dance team members. But Saturday night we moved high enough to watch the action and I left very impressed with how Cincinnati plays defense. There were lots of good hits."

Holding offers from Cincinnati, Maryland, North Carolina State, Akron, Kent State and now Ohio University, Cheek knows one person on the Bearcats staff is looking for him to give an edge to the Bearcats in former Lancaster High School and Bearcat linebacker John Carpenter.

"He keeps asking me when I'm going to commit, but right now I'm just taking everything in and will look to make my college choice before my senior season starts."

One area of need for the Bearcats is linebacker and Cheek fills that role with his ability to play inside or outside at the next level. A high school quarterback and linebacker Cheeks brings great athletic ability and should have a very successful college career.
