Five Questions: Answered

On Friday we gave you 5 questions for the Bearcats game against Marshall. What were the answers to these questions? Let's look back.

Q: Who Is The Bearcats QB?

A: Chazz Anderson is now the Bearcats quarterback with his performance against Marshall.  But don’t get too caught up in this as Brian Kelly can’t wait to get Tony Pike or Dustin Grutza back on the field.  And if we’ve learned anything Kelly won’t wait if he feels Anderson isn’t getting the job done.  So Zach Collaros needs to be ready.

Q: Will The Passing Game Stay on track?

A: Yes… While not as efficient as Pike in his first two starts Anderson got the job done and the Bearcats used more of a running game to keep things balanced.  Receivers got their balls and Anderson showed he’s capable of getting them the ball.

Q: Can The Bearcats Get a Running Game Started?

A: Yes they can…  Friday night should have been a night where the offense had over 200 yards rushing.  But with three sacks coming off the top it was just under.  Kelly used John Goebel and Jacob Ramsey for banging and pushed Isaiah Pead out the door with the most work the true freshman has seen so far.  Pead is the type of back Kelly loves to have and he’s bringing him out of the box just prior to Big East play for a reason.

Q: Overall Defense

A: Three picks and a tough hard hitting defense was the tone set for the night.  The only big mistake was Aaron Webster’s lapse that gave Marshall their only touchdown of the night.

Q: Rogers Back In The Groove?

A: Jake Rogers hit a 40 yard field goal and was perfect for the night in point after attempts.  This is a major positive for the Bearcats as a Big East game may come down to a kick.
