Bearcats In Hot Pursuit Of QB?

There has been talk that Brian Kelly and his staff has interest in taking at least one quarterback for the Class of 2010. Bearcat Insider has the latest offer made by the Bearcats in their search.

Sources close to Anthony Gonzalez (Bethlehem/PA/Liberty) have told Bearcat Insider that the quarterback was offered by the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday night.

The Bearcats become the latest program to show heavy interest in the 6-foot-2.5, 185-pound signal caller with sub 4.5 speed.

Gonzalez holds offers from Florida State, Maryland, Missouri, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Stanford and West Virginia to this point with many others showing heavy interest.

As a junior, Gonzalez led Liberty to a PIAA Class AAAA state championship and earned Associated Press Player of the year honors for the class. On the season he completed 114 of 206 passes for 1,580 yards and 12 touchdowns against just five interceptions while also posting 1,697 yards rushing on 264 carries for an additional 24 touchdowns.
