Local Product Talks Bearcats

The past couple of months have been good for Patrick Coyne. The Class of 2011 quarterback talks about another new experience with Bearcat Insider.

On Tuesday the University of Cincinnati held their third day of Senior Advance Camps. And while these camps are for seniors-to-be there are always some underclassmen that take advantage of the experience and see where they stand. On Tuesday night Patrick Coyne contacted Bearcat Insider about his camping experience.

"I had fun today at Cincinnati," Coyne told Bearcat Insider by phone. "I didn't really know what to expect from camp as this was my first college camp but it was fun and I felt I threw the ball well."

For Coyne the past couple of months have seen him place his name as one of Ohio's top gun slingers. Did the Bearcats coaches take notice?

"After camp I spoke with Coach (Kerry) Coombs and Coach Kelly. Coach Coombs said I was very high on UC's list and I shouldn't be surprised if I got a Bearcats offer in September when they can official offer the next class."

Coming off a top Scout.com Combine the Hamilton (Ohio) Badin quarterback is looking for a breakout junior season. But he's also looking to show others what he's capable of doing in the coming weeks.

"I plan on going to Toledo for a camp this month before my family takes vacation. Their coaches feel I could be the type of quarterback they need to run their spread offense."

If Patrick continues to show off his arm like he did at the Scout Combine don't be surprised if he picks up a few early offers. At 6-foot-1, 213-pounds Coyne has the arm college coaches will love and the desire to work hard to take his game to the next level.
