Insider Game Balls - SEMO Offense

How many Game Balls do you hand out in a 70-3 home opening victory? That is the hardest question about the Bearcats victory over SEMO and here are the offensive winners.

Tony Pike – QB

Pike is off to a hot start and after two games has completed 77% of his passes for 591 yards and 6 touchdowns. His playing time on Saturday night was short but he still posted some great numbers (17-23-0 / 229 yards / 3 TD's).

Offensive Line

No sacks, and clearing the bench getting back-ups on the field while still being able to run the ball will prove to be a major help as the season continues. The team rushed for 227 net yards for a 5.4 YPC average. The starters did their part and then watched the back-ups get major reps and time to help improve their game.

Jacob Ramsey – RB

The senior running back had a nice 9.3 yards per carry average on the night carrying the rock 7 times for 69 yards. But he again showed his athletic ability with 2 catches for 24 yards and 1 touchdown.

Mardy Gilyard – WR

When you score 4 touchdowns and do it different ways you know you've had a great night. Gilyard now has 200 yards receiving on the season and 3 receiving touchdowns keeping him on pace to match his great season from a year ago.

Armon Binns – WR

While Binns didn't find the endzone he did have a nice night with 4 catches for 77 yards. Each week you start to see him take his game to a higher level.

Darrin Williams – KR

The redshirt freshman got his chance and didn't fail going 100 yards on his kick return for a touchdown.

Charlie Howard – WR

It's always nice to see Charley get a chance to get on the field and do well. Saturday night he got his chance and caught one pass for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Marcus Barnett – WR

Bones is finding his groove and Saturday night he pulled down 3 balls and scored a touchdown. It's good to see him back and posting some offensive numbers.

Scott Johnson – RB

Playing behind several good running backs keeps Johnson off the field. But when he gets his chance he seems to answer the bell and Saturday night was no different as the former Middletown product got 2 carries for 35 yards and scored 1 touchdown.
