Bearcats Defense Must Stop Delone Carter

Answer: Carter carried the ball 19 times for only 50 yards. His longest run was for 11 yards meaning the Bearcats shut him down.

Bearcats Defense Must Keep Pressure On Quarterback Greg Paulus.

Answer: Paulus had a good completion mark but didn't really make things happen going 12 of 17 for 85 yards and 1 touchdown to go with 1 "Big" interception.

Bearcats Defensive Backs Must Keep Mike Williams In Check.

Answer: Williams wasn't a factor as he only had 34 yards for the game. That placed him third on the team.

Keep Syracuse Linebacker Derrell Smith In Check.

Answer: Looking back I don't recall hearing Smith's name more than a couple of times. I've not seen a final stat sheet, but Smith didn't make a difference in the game.

Cincinnati Must Get Off To A Fast Start.

Answer: While the Bearcats had some good things happen at the start of the game, they didn't have as big of a start many may have liked. Still, the defense bent but didn't break and the offense kept its cool and took what it could get.
