Final Time In Nippert Craig Carey

Friday's game against Illinois was the final time the senior members of the 2009 University of Cincinnati football team took to the Nippert Stadium turf. We take a short look back at each of them and now look at Craig Carey.

No matter what anyone says to me, I still feel Craig Carey is one of the best athletes I've ever covered. I watched him as a tight end and quarterback in high school and feel if he really wanted to be he'd be a top quarterback.

But Craig likes to hit and it took Brian Kelly moving him to defense to give him his chance to use his physical abilities. While there may be players who act as if they want to be on the field, Craig Carey always seems to enjoy the time spent on the field in practice and also during games.

Craig is always wearing a smile and pushing his teammates or joking with them. He is one local product that really enjoys the fact he's from Cincinnati and followed in his brothers footsteps as a Bearcat.

Whatever happens for Craig in the future there is one thing I'm sure you'll find, and that is Craig Carey with a smile on his face and enjoying life.
